Not sure what the fellow on the right is wearing. Guy on left looks like he has hamata and greaves
Their shields resemble samnite shields!
The Estepa relief, depicting Roman legionaries (or, more probably, Iberian auxiliaries equiped in the Roman way), from the 1st C BC. The one on the right seems to be wearing a padded garment... or it's just the tunic? The sword is really interesting: it seems to be a gladius hispaniensis, and the relief shows the possible shape of the guard and the pommel (┬┐trilobate?)
What is the evidence for the Samnite scutum, with the squared off-ish top and rounded bottom?
