Does anyone know if the Romans wore thin baldrics to carry spathas in the 2nd or 3rd centuries ?

I know they wore 'broad' baldrics, but I wonder if some are depicted wearing thin versions.

In the book "Warriors of Rome" by Simkins, there's an illustration of two third century legionaries. One of them wears a broad baldric and the other wears a thin one. I don't know if that's backed up by any evidence though, the book doesn't talk about it.

Is there evidence for thin baldrics ?

Thanks in advance.
