Great pic, thanks, I didn't know about that one. I might to mine this way. I think the mail neckguard would be a lot more protective this way!
I'm not 100% convinced though... Was the leather really in context on the helmet? Or was it perhaps an adition of the conservationist to display the preserved chainmail?
