That is interesting information. I too like that tower.
We need to see the armour as integral with the shield, and the aspis is a serious bit of kit.
The archaeological evidence is lacking, inconographic evidence is very limited, and writing evidnce can be misleading. But I am willing to believe that bthe cuiras is composite, and frankly I would be attaching every bit of metal I could to my leather base. It does worry me why such bits of metal were not used more for display, rather than presumably hidden by leather and even linen. But I do believe they were there.
