That is, I think, the biggest challenge this quest faces, absence of finds and depths of soil horizons in the valley bottoms of any putative sites. At CS we were at the limit of detector depth and getting 15th century material due to the soil development at the base of steep slopes that had been forested for centuries before clearance.
