Hey everyone,
I am still in the preliminary stages of getting this together, but I wanted to poll interest before I went to crazy booking a venue and such.
Since there is no official Roman or Ancient Period event in the Midwest I wanted to work on putting together an annual public event in the Chicago area, this event would be strictly Ancient Period, covering Ancient Greece through the Late Roman Empire, and all groups related to this time frame. With enough interest from both sides, I would like to choreograph a mock battle between Romans and celts/brittains/germans, set up a mock roman marching camp, have vendors, activities for the public, ect.
Chicago is very easy to get to from most anywhere due to its central location and airports, so as I said I wanted to poll interest from the Roman and Ancient Re-enactment community to see who would be interested in attending such an event. The more numbers the better, I would like this event to rival the large Civil, Rev War, and WW2 events in the area, and the Ancient Period is very popular with the public right now.
Post if your group or yourself would be interested and feel free to e-mail me with questions, again this is for all Ancient Period Re-enactors!
