My belt contructed from Ade Wink Pugio, buckle and plates. I made the hinged pugio frogs from thick sheet brass. The apron from silver coins and a 1930s cigarette case.

What sort of coin did you use? The U.S. stopped using silver in its coins after 1964. Pre-'64 coins are hard to find now because people hoard them.

I used pre decimal shillings (uk) I had loads of them. I had my wife hunting them at car boot sales. People sell them for about 20pence each.
Sand off one face. Place on socket slightly smaller. Position a ball peen hammer carefully. Then with the other hammer give a quick wack to form dome. Solder a copper nail in the recess buff up on polisher and ther you have it.
