As an Aussie who needs to rug up in 18 degree temperature, these photos are both phenomonal and alien to me. I need to come over next year with my gear and go walking in the snow!
That second wide shot is going to become my new desktop - absolutely beautiful.

Hot wine with honey and spices - Roman recipe first.
Enough for a half hour.
Russian recipe - a simpler but no less reliable. After.
I think that sounds like a great recipe to warm yourself up . Also having feminalia, a sagum and leg wraps go a long way towards holding in the warmth. I've been out and about in kit in temps of about -12C and been pretty comfortable.
Beautiful pictures indeed. Re-enactment in winter is always fun. I always start to realise that when I'm back inside a warm house.
Anyway, it's the best way to test if your historical winter gear is indeed winter proof. Last year we tested the Irish brat (looks very much like the paenula) in winter by sleeping in it for several nights.
Various pictures of my impression of a member of a limitanei unit in the north practising skirmishing roles with a wooden bow after the Nydam finds (Vegetius recommends using such bows for practice with new recruits), the sling, and the arcuballista.
