Rhodes but.... no roses!
#1
Quick history:

the coin.

Rhodes was known as "Ofiousa" (isle of the snakes) in the Ancient times.

What are the facts supporting the idea that the: flower on seals and coinage is a Rose and not an Hybiskos?

Red Hybiskos covered and still covers the island.

When not fully opened is exactly as appears on the coin

I believe its not the rose on the coins but Hybiskos.

Note that mythical craftsmen TELCHINAE ruled the island -known also as Telchinia- and red hybiskos was the symbol of Hefestos the "Technical God".

Please give me youthoughts

Kind regards
