"Getting Started"
#1
Ave!

I was talking with one of the moderators about making a section on RAT that was specifically set aside for "Getting Started" type posts / projects. There is tons of info all over RAT, on new guy type questions, but this information is found in various places. Not in one special place. Threads like, Pilum wrapping, Types of Galea, How to make a tunica and etc) So we were talking about making a spot for the real basic stuff. Some of the info on the forums goes way over the new guys heads (I know I'm still a new guy lol ), where as if there was a section for all of these topics it would be the new guy mecca place to go. So he said run it by everyone and get the Forums opinion....so what do you all think? Just an idea.

I think it is a good idea, but personally I would say that we already have such place on the main site. Problem is, that you need a moderator who will select topics that need to be in there, and sort them all out, which is a hard job.

Very right. Thats kinda why I am suggesting a spot on the actual forum section, so that It won't be such a burden to the moderator. Perhaps we can have that moderator to look over posts as they come up to make sure they are within reason. Think we might get more "how to s" this way.....

It be done. There is now a beginner's section in both the main reenactment and the Greek reenactment forum.
