US LEGIONS TRAVEL TO BULGARIA IN JUNE
#76
Wow, this is even worse than I thought. I truly feel sorry for your Legion as his actions reflect very badly on everyone as a whole. I'm sure you and your fellow legionaries are bearing the brunt of his actions and having to do some major damage control.

Had we been within driving distance, instead of having to fly, we still would have gone ourselves. I hope you have a safe trip and can salvage a bad situation.

Thanks you for that very clear explanation Claudio.

Good luck getting to Bulgaria by car (quite a trip!) and remember to have fun despite all this!

Thank you for your support.

One thing just to clear a small misunderstanding caused by my bad english:
unfortunately I can not reach my Fratres in Novae. We planned, months ago, to start by plane on Thursdays and retourn on Monday evening. After all the mess following the Cologni's disappearance and after the "miracoluos" finding of some tickets for Novae we had to start on Wednesday. I have my own activity (a gym) and I can not afford one more day of vacation. So I had to renounce, sadly.
The main part of Legio I Italica traveled by plan. A small group of young Fratres, because of their job, had to travel by car and they started today.

Anyone got a photo of him?

Do we have a "most wanted" list? I think we should start one with Andrea at the top. He definitely should be banned permanently from RAT.

thanks for the information.

Quote:What is worse is that he managed to collect some money from us and from the Bulgarians before he fled away.

Oh No! This is terrible! I was really truly hoping that Mr. Cologni only got in so deep over his head he couldn't handle it and that he dissapeared because he was so embarrased...The implication that he may have stolen money from people is a terrible situation for both sides.

I would have loved to have gone to this event, but I did not have anything ready or money or free time to commit. I feel lucky I was not able to go, and I feel awful for all of you who got wrapped up into this mess.

I hope something can be resolved in the near future.

Deafening silence lately on this thread.

We should now be in the second day of this event, by the calendar. So, is the Festival happening? Have any other groups shown up? Has Andrea Cologni surfaced?

Can anyone in Svishtov with access to a computer respond?

Yeah!! The festival is happening. I was at a battle last night. A battle between the Roman army and a tribe.. i can't say their name in english - daki. It was a great show i think. Besides i accosted couple of italian girls at afterwards asking them if their pizzas are like Italian ones. They said it is so not like Italian pizza, and the cheese is ordinary, not a muzzarela. Smile Im so said about the american legions, there was going to be a biig party, if they had come, i think. It's still ok tho.

There are some photos from the event posted here:

http://www.visitsvishtov.com/novae/en/g ... ?cat_id=14

Looks like about 25-30 legionaries and a fair number of barbarians. Pretty good, but not the 200 + on each side the organizers were promoting.

Looks like the Italian dancers may have made it, by the looks of one photo.

Also, attendance looks to be a bit sparse. TRT, are a lot of people turning out for this? I'm just trying to determine if this event is likely to be repeated.

Well, I don't have a camera, I am so sorry, but it was really excited. Last night (Saturday) those Italian girls danced some ancient roman dances and oriental ones afterwards. It was good. I think the only think left is the final, saying goodbye. Then the town of Svishtov will remain emty as before. Sad ) It's lovely!

Any idea about how many visitors there were at the event?

There aren't many visitiors in town, according to me. I can also see that the hotels are not full and there aren't many people speaking in different languages around me in the streets.
