Thank you very much for the time and effort put into your report Siggi. It is very much appreciated.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Merlot in one hand, Cigar in the other; body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride!

Is there any scientific theory which will be adressed/researched or do you feel this is more of a PR excercise? The article doesn't make it clear if this is to be experimental archeology or not. If it is, that would be great!! Experimental archeology and archeologists seem to have drifted far apart the last ten years.

Oops, Robert, that posting seemes either to have gone "unnotified" or have slipped my attention.
My excuses for not "coming back" more frequently during the last times. Honestly, I myself a not quite sure of what to make of it. Since this event seems to be organized by a military university I'd guess this event would lean more towards "practise" than "theory". If I'd live near Hamburg I'd try all tricks to "get aboard", though. . Greez Simplex

That's OK  . Hmm, even universities are spoiling for money, so it may be a means of attracting funds by making things more "sexy". Nothing wrong with that, I suppose, if the grant obtained will allow them to do a good publication on the subject mile: But question on the research question/theory still stands, as I was hoping to learn what they were trying to prove of disprove.

Still mo pics -- this time from last year's, -- summers, excavation.
I'd say that they are expanding the excavation area, don't they. Clarifies to me a bit of what Dr. Geschwinde said in October at his Frankfurt lecture. http://www.hna.de/lokales/northeim/olden...rstslide=9 Greez Simplex

Further "appetizers" :
A little film about the location as such. German comments -- well, say slightly "Off-topic" Seems that the excavation has shifted in location. (That's what Dr. Geschwinde ma yhave suggestion in our conversation) Visible also the traffic situation and the place of the "documentation and touristic center" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBFtN7xbMU8&gl=GB Enjoy Siggi
