Since this is a very informative forum full of great material and people i would like to ask something. Im interested in the warfare status of Crete in classical ages. There is a great deal of Minoan and Mycenean Crete but not that much really for classical age.
So apart the famous archers serving as mercenaries, how Cretan warmachine was organised? they used as base the hoplites as in the rest of Greece or had a more hybridic style with more emfasis to ranged weapons?
The hoplite armament was the same or had a diffrent style in armour? they had heavy infantry duties or were more like ekdromoi?
Every available information will be valuable.
Thanks
