Does anyone know if the Albion Gen 1 Mainz will fit in the old deepeka Mainz scabbard? I was looking to maybe get the deepeka Mainz and use the scabbard as something to protect the Albion blade until I can have a proper one made. Thanks in advance.

Just as an aside, did you have a blunted one made for re-enacting?
After having 2 sharp ones, I have come to the realization that, I need a blunt one, as i love the feel of the Alectus, and the scabbard I am getting made for my sharp will be suitable for the blunt one, so a work of art will not just be resigned to the wall in my living room, but will be worn with pride, and I will have a decent gladius to boot!!

Seems like a good idea anyway, tell me if you dissagree?

I think having one unsharpened is a great idea.

My Pomeii Style gladius by Albion has a wicked edge to it. Its as good as any of the knives I've carried with me in combat.

I do most of my re enacting with my Deepeeka Mainz and I have a Fulham being made by Mark Morrow with Hilt and scabbard by Matt Lukes that will come unsharpened so I can drill and re enact with it.

Mike, be sure to ask Mark to make the sword blunt, because if you ask Mark not to make it sharp, it will not be razor sharp, but still sharp enough to cut :lol:
