I can assure you that the pictures illustrated are definitely not from the new book. Robert is quite right, for example Roman Military Clothing 2 was advertised with pictures from Roman Military Clothing 1, in fact I think it still is.

As to when the new book is published the Osprey website said the beginning of August.

Graham.

Hello from York! - Viventius - 05-28-2005

Hi Graham,

How are you? Hope you're well. Kurt saw the picture you did for the museum (the one where he's a workman on a break!) and likes it I'm still looking out for 'my' Boudica picture, y'know! Confusedhock:

btw, I've just been in contact with Charles E-G and he's given me permission to put his Dragon Rosemary Sutcliff article on my blog ( http://blueremembered.blogspot.com/ ). It's not on yet, as there's a lot to type in! There's an acknowledgement to you, saying thanks for finding the dolphin picture. I shall scan that pic in at some point.

Please frop me a line at [email protected] if you want a chat.

Looking forward to RMC3. Hope it comes out on time, otherwise RAT members will be giving you just a little argy-bargy

Military Clothing III - Crispvs - 06-30-2005

Graham,

Thanks very much for showing me the proofs of the new book at the weekend. It was already on my list of books to be purchased over the next year, but having now seen it, it has jumped into the number two spot immediately behind B & C 2 and in front of the Vindonissa catalogue. Thanks again. I hope my tunic wasn't too disappointing.

Roman Military Clothing 3 - Graham Sumner - 07-06-2005

I have just received my advance copies today. So the new book should be available soon.

If anyone is interested I am hoping that the original artworks for all three books will be on show in York at the time of the festival in August. However they should certainly be on display at the Grosvenor Museum in Chester from September to November.

Graham.

York.. Chester.. Not anywhere in the south? Or on the continent? Cry

Roman Military Clothing Paintings - Graham Sumner - 07-07-2005

Hello Robert

Only Chester is certain at the moment but I have other possible venues lined up for next year including Manchester and at least one of the Museums on Hadrian's Wall. A combination of my contacts and logistics but any positive alternative suggestions are welcome.

Graham

York - Viventius - 07-08-2005

Graham,

Have you got a venue for York? Don't know if you've met him, but the new curator at the Yorkshire Museum is very much a 'can do' sort of chap; well worth giving him a call.

Re: Roman Military Clothing (3) - Robert Vermaat - 07-19-2005

Graham,

It's a great book!
The color of the artwork will no doubt dazzle some readers..
The only things I miss so far are references with the images, which I though was standard with Osprey. I assume most of these will be mentioned in the text?

Re: Roman Military Clothing (3) - Praefectusclassis - 07-19-2005

How? Where? Why?

Osprey says it will be published August 10!
