Heads up to all north American reenactors. I got a phone call from the Ontario government parks commission wanting to expand what has been up to now a medieval weekend in early June to now include the ancient world. Since they seem to get 10,000 visitors, half of whom are the school kids who are studying this period, they want to know how many Roman and Celtic reenactors, vendors, and associates would be willing to attend. There is a large field where they shoot trebuchet, so Roman artillery is welcome. Camp grounds are guarded 24/7, and there appear to be a lot of other ameneties, and apparently reimbursement.
At the moment the organizers are putting together a proposal to the provincial gov't for funding, so it is tentative. I'll keep you all up on this.

Sounds like it could be a fun time. Where in Ontario?

I just used the powers of google to investigate. Upper Canda Village near Cornwall?

The medieval fair looks like a ton of fun.

Upper Canada Village it is! That was quick. Yes, the school curriculum is shifting so they want to bring us in. Since the lady who called was worried that we needed to look sufficiently different from medieval, I suspect her history knowledge is sparse.

They do have a website. Looks like a lot of permanent structures. Makes me wonder if they have that in mind for the anciet world, or something flexible for the curriculum?
