Tuning 3th c. shoes into the 4-5th century ones? - Virilis - 06-22-2011 Salvete omnes! I have a spare pair of these 2-3th century shoes: I would like to turn them into a 4-5th century roman shoes. Is it possible to cut the leather and make them "lower", like simple Deurne style shoes? I don`t have the skills / tools to make elaborate decorative patterns so I wonder if it is worth the effort to try to modify them into acceptable late roman shoes? Thanks in advance! I'd rather waste a tiny amount of money on the craft store felt than make a permanent change in a perfectly good shoe. Just a thought. Re: Tuning 3th c. shoes into the 4-5th century ones? - Virilis - 06-23-2011 Here they are: Now they are some kind of pseudo-4th century shoes (I know there isn`t such a thing  ). I will perhaps punch some decorative patterns & openings on them too...
