Sean, did you get my emails?

Re: Segmentata Assembly Teaser - Martin Moser - 11-21-2008

Very good work, Sean! This will certainly help a lot of people here. Laus from me!

Re: Segmentata Assembly Teaser - Hibernicus - 11-22-2008

Thanks Martin

Its fun to be so close to being finsihed with this project

There are a few more pictures to take... retakes as some pictures that just didn't illustrate the process as well as it could; a missed part or two of the step by step...

We'll also be doing a section on modifying used tools to make fittings. For example: using large flathead screw drivers as metal chisels. That'll happen after the Seg Assembly tutorial is up and running.

Teaching guys in LEG IX to make their own kit has been a very important part of being in LEG IX. Of the nearly 50 guys currently in the club only 3 have store bought segmentatas and they are working to replace them. I enjoy teaching... its part of the great fun for me and many many of the folk in LEG IX of doing public display events such as military timelines. Its why we have up to 3-4 workshop days per week at my place.. I even send guys home with "homework".

Hibernicus,

Have these photos been re-hosted elsewhere? The links are dead and I would sorely like to view them.

Re: Segmentata Assembly Teaser - Neuraleanus - 11-05-2009

It appears that rlqm.com has been hijacked.

Re: Segmentata Assembly Teaser - QVINTVS ARTORIVS CORVINVS - 11-12-2009

Doubt it is hijacked, looks more like the domain name was not renewed and is up for grabs.

This is a hard question and one that a lot of people will answer to their own vies. I think most of use will currently argue for the "no". I would suggest you search in the reference and reviews section for the discussion of the recent book by D'Amato and Sumner. Here we did the most recent discussion about this.

Re: Segmentata Assembly Teaser - Astiryu1 - 11-21-2009

I thought as much so that's enough for me. Thanx!
