Recreating a Soldier in the army of Belisarius - Omar - 05-07-2008

I figured the beginners section would be a good place to start.

I am looking for resources or advice on trying to create a kit for a late roman/early byzantine soldier in the time of Justinian and Belisarius.

So far the only real resources I have are the two late roman Osprey books, which kinda touch on the LATER later romans, but not really.

I believe coptic tunics would still be used, along with simple pants and the leg wraps. Armor seems like it would be mail along with the thick leather belt seen in alot of late roman sources.. but to honest, I am just guessing from what limited info I have.

Any advice is appreciated!
