Re: SCALES the fast way - LVCIVS VVLPES - 11-21-2007 Front view back view that's it for the moment, first complete the shirt Cheers Luc Re: SCALES the fast way - Theodosius the Great - 11-21-2007 Brilliant, Luc ! I was about to start making my own lamellar shirt as well. The plates I already have but I need to make holes. I was going to use a handheld hole punch but your way is much quicker. My shirt will have about 950 plates. But looking at your last photo, Luc, the shirt looks very uncomfortable to wear so I'm wondering what to wear for protection against the staples - maybe a leather jerkin ? A padded subarmalis ? Thanks for posting. Laudes from me as well. ~Theo Re: SCALES the fast way - Virilis - 11-21-2007 Brilliant, Luc, laudes hock: !! Re: SCALES the fast way - Caballo - 11-21-2007 Brilliant- and laudes. One for Daniayal or Deepeeka to put into mass production so that we can all wear lots of squamata bling? Re: SCALES the fast way - Peroni - 11-21-2007 The next fastest method to machine stamping! Nice work Luc! Re: SCALES the fast way - Martin Moser - 11-21-2007 Very good, Luc! Thanks for describing this - laudes! Re: SCALES the fast way - Robert Vermaat - 11-21-2007 Well done Luc, a laudes from me as well. As to the locking scale, that's very stiff to wear is it not? Re: SCALES the fast way - Iagoba - 11-21-2007 hock: Wow! I want one, mummy! No, dear, Santa has given you the ballista you wanted, you must be good boy and let the other children have their toys... Re: SCALES the fast way - M. Demetrius - 11-21-2007 And a laud from me. Looks like all that would have to be done to make the older, non-interlocking type of squamata would be to move the side holes up so they are underneath the overlapping scale above. Not having a machine around here to stamp out whole plates, and not being likely to get one any time soon, this is an excellent way to accomplish the task. How did you compute how many scales you'd need? Re: SCALES the fast way - brennivs - tony drake - 11-21-2007 Lavdes from me, simple engineering brillant D Regards Brennivs |
