Hi Dave , glad you enjoyed training Saturday, not sure when to do boot camp wan't to get some more names and then i can decide how long to do boot camp over, like the fact that you are seeing the skill involved in the different fighters to do with structure and well balanced footwork and angles of weapons, i wan't to teach people good skill fighting and principles so they can eventually learn different fight patterns which can be done in a free fighting situation, thanks for you input mate, i would like to incourage people from all parts of the world to come and train at NIXS LUDIS just need to get more gladiators on board and students who wan't to be gladiators and get them over to britian and train in Colchester, Britains oldest recorded roman town, cheers mate Nick

Yup - What Magnus said. It's just as popular here in the States. It's a rather obscure period, and Ancient period in general in the U.S. is always going to get passed over for what constitutes as more "relevant" or immediate history. While a good number of members in Leg III Cyr. have come in from Civil War and WW2, a number of those members are still active in those periods - and the "reenacting season" is painfully short and everything falls on the same weekends. This is also the big year for the Civil War and 1812, I admit I too focused on Civil War last year being the 150th both of the start and of the unit I'm with. So the Roman period is going to go through it's growth and crawl stages. Just like everything else.

It, dare I say, doesn't have the "bang for the buck" as does periods with firearms. Things that go BOOM get more attention than things that are Shiny.
